Alastair Grieve (Category 2 Development) and Colin Drummond (Category 3) have recently been accepted on the Scottish FA’s SCORE 18 programme.
SCORE (Scottish Centre of Refereeing Excellence) is a 2 year course which develops talented referees and assistant referees through intensive coaching, observation and training.
It provides referees opportunities to obtain one to one coaching and training from experienced coaches. Aside from the refereeing benefits, it also exposes the officials to a number of academic topics which will help them manage and deliver their matches successfully.
Both Alastair and Colin went through a rigorous selection process which involved fitness testing, presentations, laws of the game testing and interviews. Only 8 officials from across Scotland were accepted onto the course, with 2 coming from Stirlingshire.
Training for season 2018/19 will commence on Wednesday 30 May at Grangemouth Stadium.
This session will consist of a practice fitness test, starting at 7.30pm prompt.
Thereafter, our regular training will be on every Tuesday at Grangemouth Sports Complex, with the last Wednesday of the month at the Stadium.
With the nicer weather, please always bring footwear appropriate for indoors and outdoors.
We are very happy to confirm that Lex Robertson will be continuing as our trainer for season 2018/19. We are delighted to have Lex leading the sessions and look forward to welcoming him back after recovering from illness.
