Members are reminded that training has now finished for this current campaign and “pre-season” training for the 2012 / 2013 season will resume on Tues 5th June 2012 at Grangemouth Sports Centre with a 7.30pm start. Enjoy your rest!!

Our last indoor session at Grangemouth Sports Centre will take place on Tues 20th March 2012. There will be NO training on Tues 27th March 2012.

A practice fitness test will take place at Grangemouth Stadium on Wed 28th March 2012 with a prompt 7.30pm  start.

The following Wed 4th April 2012 will be the official Spring fitness test. The test will START at 7.30pm.

There will be NO training during the remainder of April and the month of May. Training will re-commence on Tues 5th June 2012 at Grangemouth Stadium with a 7.30pm start.

Oh well there’s always next year!!

In true fashion however, Kenny “Teacake” Baxter did make it to our training session and was presented with the Ian Wales trophy by our physical training instructor, Lex Robertson.

Well done to Kenny, it just shows you that age is no barrier and the bribe of a teacake every now and then goes a long way!!

A well known trophy.......not that our award winners were collecting it!!

On Thursday 1st March 2012 we held our Annual Awards dinner to talk and celebrate all of what’s good and the not so good in the world of refereeing. On a well attended evening our speakers, Jimmy Stirling and Tam Cowan provided laughs in abundance. A big thank you to those who helped out on the night and in particular our President and Vice President for bringing the whole evening together.

Typical scorching day at the Stadium!!

This is to advise members that there is a change to the day and venue of training at the end of February 2012.
Training scheduled for Tues 28th February will take place outdoors on Wed 29th February 2012 at Grangemouth Stadium. Members are reminded that training starts at 7.30pm sharp.

We are now pleased to announce the speakers have been confirmed. The two speakers who will entertain you and leave you trying to remember half the jokes you were told are ;

Our first speaker is Jimmy Stirling who is one of the most sought after speakers on the after-dinner circuit. Don’t just take our word for it though, click here to find out a lot more about the man and who he has made laugh around the country.

 

Our main guest speaker on the night is Tam Cowan. Tam Cowan (born 1969) is a Scottish football journalist, radio and television presenter. Previously the presenter of the Scottish football comedy TV show ‘Offside’, he currently writes a twice weekly article for the Daily Record newspaper. Most Saturday’s during the football season he can be found presenting the comedy football radio show ‘Off the Ball’ along with fellow Daily Record journalist and good friend Stuart Cosgrove. It is also well known that Tam is a fan of Motherwell FC.
